JAGR : Projects
is a collaboration of John Levitties and Michael Gruber, combining their respective
expertise in interior design, art history, and both period and modern furnishings
and fine art. The partners’ complimentary talents and style form a natural partnership,
matching John’s passion and curatorial expertise with Michael’s soft-spoken eloquence
and design prowess.
John Levitties
has developed a broad American and International reputation as an
expert on early modern design. As a private dealer in the early 1990s, and later
at the renowned John Alexander Ltd gallery, he curated one of the world’s leading
collections of turn-of-the-century British and Continental decorative arts. While
John continues to count numerous museums and private collectors as clients, his
own collecting interests have broadened and visitors to the JAGR gallery can expect
to find a wide range of important art and design along with idiosyncratic works
of art.
Michael Gruber
has been a major figure in Philadelphia’s interior design community
for decades. His approach has been that of the collector, creating distinctive interiors
tailored to the unique taste and lifestyle of each client. Michael is known for
a seamless mixture of old and new; his vision gives modernism character, tradition
a fresh attitude, and enlivens the traditional Philadelphia interior.
